Michael and Natalie are staying an extra day after the trial to co-present 2 half day workshops at MasterPeace Dog Training. This is an opportunity to learn from two accomplished instructors in scent detection sports. Michael is Certified in Applied Animal Ethology, a Certified Nosework Instructor,and Certifying Official for the NACSW as well as a K9Nosework camp instructor. He is also a founder of DogJutsu and PUSH Treibball. Natalie is a Certified Nosework Instructor, a Certified Search Designer and judge for USCSS, a judge for AKC Scent Work, and a K9 Nose Work Camp instructor in GA, CO, and PA.
8:00 am – 12:00 pm : “Everything you need to do after you find a hide”. Michael and Natalie will discuss mechanical skills (reward, leash management, and footwork), search area coverage/strategies, and memory to help you be successful and efficient during searches.
1:00 pm to 5:00 pm: “How to read a dog: focusing on reading your dog, the odor picture, and the search area.” Do you hesitate to call the “alert” in trial because you are unsure about what your dog is telling you? This workshop will cover how to see and interpret the information being presented to you by your dog.
Working spots are limited to 12 teams per half day session. The cost for a working spot is $100 per session. Audit spots are $55 per session. No member pricing or discounts. Refunds minus a $15 processing fee until December 6th. No refunds after December 11th.
