You’ve saved the dates – here are the details regarding the Michael McManus Nose Work weekend, to be held Memorial Day weekend, May 25th thru 27th!
Michael will present 3 different topics:
Saturday, May 25th – Advanced Nose Work Games. This seminar will build on what Michael covered at the Games seminar here last Fall; new games will be introduced or variations on games we haven’t yet seen, all to help teams further learn to cope with trials stress and anxiety in a fun and exciting way! This seminar is designed for those teams who are familiar with his games and want more of a challenge. Dogs should be on birch, anise and clove.
Sunday, May 26th – Patterns and Handling. This is for dogs at ANY stage of training and for handlers who enjoy being precise. Has your dog ever missed a hide at a trial? All 4 elements (containers, vehicles, exteriors, and interiors) will be tackled and the following questions (and more) will be covered: what is a pattern, why do patterns, when should I pattern and when should I let the dog lead, and are some searches better for patterning exercises? ** UPDATE: Working spots for this day are FULL** We will be happy to add you to a wait list; please consider an audit spot for this day.
Monday, May 27th – Nose Work Games. Revitalize your Nose Work training for you and your dog! Learn how to cope with stress and competition anxiety and turn it into fun and excitement! Each game will focus on different skills or attitudes that you can then apply to everyday searches. Dogs should be working on birch, anise and clove. Michael did this seminar with us last Fall, and it received rave reviews! ** UPDATE: Working spots for this day are FULL** We will be happy to add you to a wait list; please consider an audit spot for this day.
Cost: working spot – $185. There will be limited working spots for each seminar. If you have more than one dog, you may work a different dog each day. We would like to to not have the same dog worked all 3 days, in order to maximize the ability to see a variety of different dogs at different levels, working.
Audit spot: for one day – $100; for two days – $170; for three days – $225. Ideally, if you get a working spot, we strongly encourage you to audit at least one more day. Also, auditors last year had an active role in many of the searches, so we strongly encourage people to audit.
Refunds, minus $25 processing fee, will be given until May 10th; no refunds after that date.
Mail or drop off the registration form with your check (payable to “MasterPeace”). No registrations will be taken by phone. We anticipate that these seminars will fill quickly, so we ask that you be open to auditing, should you not get a working spot, and you indicate your preference for day or days on your registration form. Once working spots are filled, we will start a wait list for each day. For questions, please contact Patty Sontag at 508-553-9300 or email her at: firstname.lastname@example.org
