Competition Obedience Open & Utility level Run-Thrus and Novice Heeling with Rally moves - all taught by Kathy Goodman!  Join trainer Kathy Goodman every Tuesday morning to refresh your skill set, get started on the right foot, and prepare your dog for the Spring and Summer trials!  Open & Utility run-thrus take place at 9:30 AM and Novice Heeling takes place at 11 AM.  Due to the overwhelming popularity of the Open & Utility run-thrus, we have made the start time earlier and are now offering call-ahead reservations.  You may register UP TO ONE WEEK in advance by either: (1) signing up and paying when you are here Tuesday morning or (2) calling to leave a credit card payment starting that Tuesday morning before the next week's run-thru.  The run-thrus will be very limited in number, so we encourage you to pre-register.  Of course, you are still free to drop in for any available  run-thru spots, but these are not guaranteed.  There is no need to pre-register for the Novice Heeling class.  These classes are just $10 and are conveniently scheduled in the morning when most trials take place!  Kathy has been active in the sport of Competition Obedience since 1972, and her dogs have attained many AKC and Canadian conformation, obedience and agility titles.  To see Kathy's bio, click here.  Make plans to join us for these drop-in classes with Kathy - you won't be disappointed!

Obedience Run-Thru's! Thursday evenings at 5:30-8:00 PM (you do not need to arrive at 5:30). Due to a wonderful turnout for Thursday evening Obedience Run-Thru's, we have decided to offer call-ahead reservations. You may register UP TO ONE WEEK in advance for the next week’s Run-Thru's in either of two ways:
1. Sign up and pay in person, starting on Thursday evening for the next Thursday’s Run-Thru's.
2. Call and pay with a credit card, starting on Friday morning for the next Thursday’s Run-Thru's, up until that night.
The session will be limited to the first 18 paid dogs. Also, pre-registration is not required. Still feel free to drop in for any available spots, but this is not guaranteed.
Thursdays @ 8:00 PM continues! Heeling Class with Rally moves incorporated! Due to the overwhelming response to this class, this drop-in class with Jane Young will be continuing on Thursdays at 8:00 PM. Need to brush up on your heeling? Need some practice with Rally exercises?  This class is for you!  This class begins right after our Obedience run-thrus, so plan to stay for the extra practice! Cost for this drop-in class is $10. No need to pre-register, just drop in!
Ongoing Breed Handling with Kerry Boyd!  Kerry Boyd, all-breed handler, is our  instructor for the 7 PM Breed Handling class.  Cost for this drop-in class is just $10.00; there is no need to pre-register! 
7/10/08 Doga - Yoga for Dogs!  This 7 week class, taught by Carolyn Ronca, will be held Thursdays from 7 - 8 PM beginning July 10th.  Doga is a partner class for you and your dog, where you'll learn specific massage techniques to calm your dog and aid circulation and digestion processes - and in the process, you'll get a workout, too!  This class is for all dogs: young, old, big or small, so long as they are dog and people friendly!  Please bring a mat or a towel for your personal work space.  Doga is all about bonding with your dog and giving him/her one hour of your undivided attention!   Cost for this 7 week class is $140.  Please call the school to register - there are a few spots left!  To see a demo of Carolyn doing Doga with Nala, Mike & Fran Masters' dog, click on this link:

8/29/08 Intro to Heeling and Rally Obedience!  Do you have dreams of a Rally title or just want to give this fun sport a try? You have to start somewhere, and that's this class!  You will learn the important skill of heeling, plus fronts and finishes, pivots and more! Then you'll move on to learning about the various Rally signs, how to interpret them, and get to practice with your dog on an actual Rally course!  This 6 week course starts Friday, Aug. 29th at 7:30 PM and will be taught by Karen Squier.  Cost for this course is $140 and pre-registration is required; in addition, your dog must have completed a Beginner obedience course.  Please bring lots of small, soft, tasty treats for your dog, and a crate, too, if you have one.  Call 508-553-9300 to register.
8/31/08 Rally Training Party!  Sun., August 31st from 10 AM - 1 PM with Karen Squier.  This training party will be geared towards those working at the Novice and Advanced levels, and will include a brief review of those signs that seem to cause handlers confusion.  All levels are welcome to participate with their dogs, but practice will only include Novice and Advanced signs.  Cost for this training party is $15 and pre-registration is required, since spots will be limited.  To download a registration form, click here.  FMI, call 508-553-9300.
9/4/08 Reactive Dog - with Emma Parsons! Does your dog "react" to other dogs? Does he bark and lunge at the end of the leash when you pass other dogs? Is he reactive or aggressive with people?  Emma Parsons, author of  Click to Calm, Healing the Aggressive Dog, will teach you how to desensitize your dog to approaching strange dogs, grab your dog's collar without getting bitten, teach your dog to perform canine calming signals and more!  Five week course begins Sept. 4th and will be held Thursdays, 7:00 and 8:00 PM; . Pre-registration is required. 2 handlers per dog is encouraged.  Call the school to register.
9/7/08 Having Fun with Freestyle! This workshop for Canine Freestyle beginners, will be held Sunday, Sept. 7th from 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM.  You and your dog should have some basic obedience skills, but there is no need to have ever taken a Freestyle course.  Skills such as spins, weaves, backs and side passes will all be taught, and you will be shown how to put these skills to music.  In addition, you will learn how to match your team's own style to appropriate music.  Please bring a crate and lots of small, easily eaten treats for your dog.  A light breakfast and lunch are included in the price of the workshop.  Cost for this workshop: $80 for working teams and $50 to audit.  If you register before August 8th, you may take a $5. discount!  FMI, please call 508-553-9300. 10/19/08 Save the date!  Obedience Show & Go to benefit Operation Breathe Easy!  Judging will begin at 9 AM for the Open and Utility classes, to be followed by the Novice class (which will not begin before Noon).  The first run costs $8; additional runs of the same dog cost $6 each.  All proceeds from this event will benefit Operation Breathe Easy, an organization dedicated to raising money to defer the cost of medical bills and equipment for Tom Mournighan, who is awaiting a double lung transplant due to a diagnosis of pulmonary fibrosis.  To see a copy of their flier, click hereAll checks for entry fees should be made payable to Operation Breathe Easy.  Pre-entries until one week before; walk-ins will be taken if limits have not been reached.  For an entry form, click here.  FMI about this organization, go to their web site: www.operationbreatheeasy.com.   FMI about this event, call the school at 508-553-9300.

AKC Obedience & Rally Seminars!  Co-hosted by the Charles River Dog Training Club and MasterPeace Dog Training.  On Saturday and Sunday, January 31 and February 1, 2009, AKC representatives will present an Obedience and Rally seminar here!  The Obedience seminar will take place Saturday, Jan. 31, 2009 from 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM; the Rally seminar will be held Sunday, Feb. 1, 2009 from 8:30 AM - 2:30 PM.  Cost is $90 for both days and $50 for one day.  Fee includes a light breakfast and hot lunch both days.  Please plan to bring a comfortable chair from home.  These seminars meet the AKC requirements for judges.   The number of attendees is limited and demonstration dogs will be by invitation only.  There may be course runs in Rally if time permits; dogs that may be crated quietly are welcome, however there is no guarantee of a course run.  To download a registration form, click here.  Send form with payment by 12/22/08; any refunds before 12/22/08 will be less a $20 processing fee.  Sorry, no refunds after that date.  FMI, call 508-553-9300.

Canine Coffee Club Playgroup - Get out of the weather, and chat with a fun bunch while your dog romps and plays with some pals. Friday mornings, 9:00-10:00 AM. $5. (BYOC) Note: Dogs must be able to play nicely with others to participate. Dogs will not be separated by size. No registration required, but the group is limited to the first 15 dogs.

FRIDAY NIGHT PLAYGROUPS!!  6:00 - 7:00 PM . Cost is $8 for one hour.  The dogs play with each other under supervision while you watch and chat, letting them burn off some energy while you relax!  No registration required, but the group is limited to the first 15 dogs in each of 2 rings.   One ring will be for larger, rougher playing dogs; the other will be for puppies, small dogs and gentle play dogs.
